Summer Fun in Echo

The Big Debate- catching little fish in the irrigation ditch.
Donavon, with the broken collar bone must have drawn the short stick because he crawled down next to the water. Jaedan is laying on the bridge. They are cousins from Eugene.

Patrick and Joseph next to a memorial in Echo park for Great Grandpa Bob. There is a fountain to the right.

Carnival Fun (Hermiston)

The boys had such a great time at the carnival this year.

On your mark- get set- GO!

Patrick and I went on the bumper cars. Joseph took Aunt Penny in the Funhouse. We also ran into family and friends that day- Steve, Shera and The Whole Dennee Clan.

Hermiston Fair & Rodeo

Friday night- all the excitement wore Joseph out. He slept from 9 to 10.
How fun- boxseats!

Little cousin Gracie in the background. That is the damn hat that funnelled the beer onto Patrick and myself.

It is so great- there is that huge big screen to see up close action.

Broken Fingers

Our continuing summer fun. Patrick went to an orthopedic doctor today, 10 days after he broke two fingers on a trampoline. But the doctor says for sure the ring finger is broke but he is not sure about the middle finger. The bad part is it is broken in the growth plate area and any deformity won't show up until he grows. But they put on a soft cast and he goes in, in two weeks for more x-rays.

Ramos River Tales

This river trip was filled with exciting happenings. We end up at the Narrows on the John Day river. Perfect depth for the boys to swim and the water is warm. And low and behold Jon strips down to his skivies and cannonballs off of the side of the boat.
So we then need to hurry back to camp to take the trailer home, but decided to go back out on the boat. Well, things started getting hairy from this point on. Jon dented the tail gate when he backed into the goose-neck on the trailer.
We are now headed back up the river- can't wait to go swimming. AND we get into some rocks: bent the prop and did a little hull damage. Jon ends up jumping in fully clothed (including a new can of chew) into the river to get us out of the rocks. The picture is Jon replacing the prop in the river. What a good guy to bring a spare.
But we enjoyed the next couple of hours swimming. Patrick likes jumping off of the boat now. We can't wait until we can go out again.

Darn Bees!

Joseph just has all the luck this summer. A darn bee stung him on the check. His eye was swollen for three days.

One Two Three!

Jumping off of the diving board at day five.

Swimming Lessons

The boys have really loved swimming lessons. They are taking them with some other friends from Sherman County.
