So we made it through another fair!!!
The boys did good - they each had about 20 entries.

Joseph placed second in a livestock judging contest and received $50.

Patrick won Reserve Grand Champion Goat Showmanship.  Being still only a Jr this was a huge deal - he went up against 20 club members from 4th grade to Senior in High School.

Patrick is already planning for next year.

TAG

Joseph has tested  and qualified as Intellectually Gifted.  So he has been recommended into the school's Talented and Gifted program.  We are gonna try it.  He has already been doing advanced work - his teacher has had him doing it all year.
He qualified after just completing half of the tests.  He also has the potential to be in the 97% in math.  He scored really high in social studies.  The school only recognizes math and reading for advance work, but if we get a Teacher who is willing to include social studies then that will be a plus.

We are very proud of him.

FLL Robotics

Good news and bad news.  Those of you who know the boys compete on a First Lego League team their qualifying tournament here locally was cancelled due to weather.  They were unable to get a seat in the Hood River tournament.  The two teams from Sherman were put into a lottery draw then to go directly to State.  The older team drew the slot.  But the older team Tech Dawgs has asked Patrick to join their team.
So we have State Robotics in Hillsboro in January.
We are very proud of him.

So I had forgotten I had started this blog.  So I am going to try to keep it going.  I know we all are on Facebook but sometimes there are things to share that all of FB doesn't need to know :)
